Family dinner
I like how in this film no editing is really done as it is
made with just one continuous camera movement of it spinning around instead of
using separate shots. It is very simple as it shows a normal family dinner with
people have different kinds of conversations. I think it’s a good film as it is
quite relatable to most people as it is very realistic with two of the kids
arguing and the older people complaining and stating their views on things. The
music that has been chosen also fits very well with what is going on as it is
very simple then when the camera stops and goes backwards instead of forwards
near the end a rewind sound is put in and a sound effect is put in at the end
when the girl hits her brother, making the film all fit together.
One
This film uses quite a few shots which are just put together
with a simple cut edit making nice and simple. It shows a man taking a ride on
an empty and dark train making the watcher wonder where he is going and why?
Then when it shows the shot of him looking at the grave of a dog it makes it
quite powerful as the emotion comes through quite clearly. This then kinds of
explains the dark empty train as it is representing how he must feel now his
dog has clearly died as it suggests he is now alone and is in a dark place like
on the train instead of being happy and in a bright place.
Iranshahr
This film only uses a few different simple shots to send
quite a powerful message on how around 40 girls from Iranshahr city were raped
and were too afraid to tell anyone. The white paint that she is spreading
across her face shows where the man has touched her, which is shown later on in
the video, and also that how it has left a mark on her face which is difficult
to wash away. As the film carries on the quicker the woman starts to spread the
paint creating more of a panic for the person watching and I think the way the
shots have been put together and the message it very effective for what it is
trying to do even though it is kept nice and simple.
